My name is Lisa Marotta, and I have the great honor of serving in my second term as Mayor of the Town of Rocky Hill. I also have the distinct pleasure of being one of only three women to serve in this role since the Town’s incorporation in 1843! My bi-partisan approach to governing puts people first – all the people – irrespective of party affiliation. Like you, I expect open lines of communication, transparency, and collaboration with and among lawmakers. This has been my approach as a local leader, and it is my commitment to you, as your voice for the State Senate’s 9th District.

During my tenure as Mayor of Rocky Hill, one thing has become abundantly clear – predictable is preventable. The global pandemic has taken a toll on all of us, but it should never become an excuse for government inaction. Several of the issues facing our communities today, including increased crime and the exponential growth of mental healthcare issues, were predictable problems that warranted a swift state response back in 2020 or even earlier. The absence of proactive leadership in these areas and others has negatively impacted daily lives, hurt local budgets, and left residents and businesses feeling vulnerable.
Experienced
As the current two-term Mayor of Rocky Hill, I have a proven track record of getting things done. I have maintained an aggressive agenda for my community’s success, despite the challenges imposed by the global pandemic, economic recession, and social injustice. I understand the importance of working together and finding middle ground, which is why I expect collaboration at all levels. The ability to work together within our communities, across party lines, and throughout our legislature is a prerequisite to fulfilling the diverse needs of our taxpayers. I work hard every day for my community to make a difference in the lives of others, mindful of the importance of giving back.
The opportunity to give back to the municipalities that have given so much to my family and me has brought me full circle as a Republican candidate for our 9th Senate District.
